How do I search my product library?
The search box at the top of Library → Products does more than match names. Type what you are looking for in your own words, in English or French, and three things happen.
Words that name an attribute become chips
Section titled “Words that name an attribute become chips”Veeton annotates every product with its color, pattern, material, formality, season, occasion, neckline, sleeve length, presence (statement piece or basic) and style (minimalist, streetwear, heritage…). When a word you type names one of those, it becomes a chip next to the search box, and the grid keeps only the products that carry it. “bordeaux” and “burgundy” both give the chip Color: red, “laine” gives Material: wool, “col roulé” gives Neckline: turtleneck. Several words give several chips, and a product must match all of them.
Click the ✕ on a chip to drop it. For a chip made from your words, this removes those words from the search text as well, so the chip does not come straight back.
The rest is matched by meaning
Section titled “The rest is matched by meaning”Whatever is not a chip is matched against the product itself, not only its name: “quiet luxury for the office”, “something for the beach” or “un pull chaud pour l’hiver” bring the closest products first, even when none of those words appear in a product’s name. A product whose name or reference contains your words still comes first. A moment after you stop typing, the grid re-sorts from best match to weakest; while it does, you are already looking at the products that fit your chips.
Occasionally a word that is not in Veeton’s vocabulary is close enough to an attribute for the search to propose the chip itself, for example “cerise” as Color: red. Remove it like any other chip if that is not what you meant.
What it needs
Section titled “What it needs”Only products that have been annotated take part in chips and in the ranking by meaning. A product imported moments ago, or one whose images gave nothing to go on, is still found by its name, and appears at the end of a ranked list. Annotation runs by itself when a product gets its first photo.
The other filters keep working as before: chips and the search text combine with the gender, category, tag, date and project filters. Sorting by name or date is set aside while a search text is active, since the grid is ordered by how well each product answers it.
