Which file formats and size limits are supported by Veeton?

Veeton is flexible about the packshots you upload, but the right format and size get you the best quality.

  • PNG — lossless, ideal for high-quality product shots
  • JPG / JPEG — widely supported, suitable for most product photos
  • WEBP — modern format, smaller files at similar quality
  • AVIF — advanced compression, small files at high quality
  • HEIC / HEIF — the format Apple devices shoot in
  • TIFF / TIF — the format most studios and retouchers deliver in

Veeton converts HEIC, HEIF and TIFF files to JPEG as they upload. You do not have to do anything, but the converted file still has to fit under the size limit — so a very large TIFF can occasionally be refused after conversion.

Two limits apply to every upload, and a file has to satisfy both:

  • 30 MB maximum file size
  • 150 megapixels maximum, counted as width × height

The second one catches people out: a scan or a studio TIFF can sit comfortably under 30 MB and still exceed 150 megapixels. When that happens, Veeton asks you to resize the image before uploading it.

Download your results as WEBP, JPG / JPEG, PNG, AVIF or TIFF / TIF.

WEBP is the default. On a computer, the quick download menu offers WEBP, JPEG and PNG; AVIF and TIFF are in the full export window, along with the rest of your export settings. On a phone, downloading a result hands the file to the share sheet as it is — no format to pick there.

On Safari, downloading a single image straight from a card saves it as PNG, because Safari cannot write WEBP files. To get real WEBP on Safari, use the full export window instead — our servers produce those exports, so the format you pick is the format you get.

Use high-resolution, well-lit photographs, and stay comfortably inside both limits. For what actually makes a difference to the generated images, see which parameters matter most for high-quality packshots.
